This map was created in 2012 as a final project for the course "Introduction to Cartography" at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It represents walkable access to parks for youth (ages 5-17) in the forty most-populous cities in the United States. It also shows the possibilities for access to public land in the three cities with the highest youth population and the lowest walkable access to parks.

This map received Honorable Mention for the 2013 National Geographic Award in Mapping. It also received the 2013 Barbara Bartz Petchenik Award in Mapping at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
